In general terms, within the Travel Insurance Market there are two types of products:

Travel Health Insurance is obviously more heavily weighted to cover you for any health related problems that might occur while traveling outside of your home country. These plans have a small amount of Trip Cancellation coverage included.

Trip Cancellation Insurance is more heavily weighted in it's trip cancellation coverage (Cost of non-refundable fees paid in advance, Baggage Loss, Travel Delay, Loss of Travel Documents, etc.) These plans will also have a small amount of medical coverage included in the plan.

Your greatest financial risk while traveling outside of your home country is if you have health problems. Some domestic health insurance plans will cover you away from home but many don't. They are not designed to function well with hospitals and doctors overseas, which can add to your frustration if you have problems while traveling...
